Even when winter comes around and the leaves die off, a poison ivy vine remains alive and poisonous. The seeds sprout during spring, and soon you have a Poison Ivy crisis, if not caught early. Unfortunately, I decided to plant a few plants at the edge of my treeline (early spring, before the poison ivy had appeared) and got a horrible case.
